76ers Rumors: This summer, Philly is considering a deal for these two All-Stars

After being eliminated from the playoffs, the Philadelphia 76ers may go fishing, but the front office has to get to work. And it’s widely anticipated throughout the league that the team will be the most active club this offseason because they have a huge war chest of assets at their disposal to enhance the roster.

The 76ers will have one of the highest spending capacities in the league, if not the strongest, because of the anticipated mass departure of their cap-sucking and departing free agents. Actually, the rumors about Philadelphia have already begun to circulate because Daryl Morey and company were recently connected to two prominent players whom they may target this summer.

All-Star forwards Jimmy Butler and Brandon Ingram are reportedly targets for the 76ers; although Paul George is still the team’s top pick, Butler and Ingram were mentioned as possible trade targets. Butler, who recently missed the Miami Heat’s postseason due to an injury, is signed for at least another season because he has a player option that he may exercise or decline before the 2025–26 season. Although his numbers this season were relatively low, he has always been a fantastic playoff performer who has guided the Heat to two NBA Finals appearances in the previous four years.

The six-time All-Star, who famously played a significant portion of the 2018–19 season in Philadelphia, is reportedly looking to sign a large extension this summer. Unfortunately, it’s unlikely that the Heat’s management will even consider offers for him until it’s one they can’t turn down. Regretfully, Miami doesn’t find any of the 76ers’ towable assets to be remotely alluring.

In contrast, Brandon Ingram might be a more practical choice if they make a mistake with George. He’s only signed for another year.
